ember: glowing, hot, fragmented fuel that can be used to restart at fire. Also, figuratively, the dying remnants of emotions, ideas, or memories that still have the potential to be revived.
Typically, the phoenix is depicted emerging from the embers and ashes made anew. Here, we have silhouettes of stillness. In prayer, touching one other. The communal aspect depicted here from which the Phoenix has rose from is intentional. Instead of ashes, the visual representation of interpersonal relationships is what has revived the Phoenix. We learn so much from our relationships. About ourselves. What are strengths are down to our weakness. Relationships teach us things good and bad. Relationships can also be a foundational rock for uplifting us and seeing us through our battles.
The gathering of the community at the bottom of this piece drives us forward. The community is key to seeing the other side of the fire. To help release, to support the process. To be of service. We can’t do it alone.
