My Love is Like

Who doesn't love old 2000's R&B? I created the piece as an ode to my love for all things 90s'-2000's music. I love Mya and her "My Love is Like.." video was my favorite! I spent so much time in front of the TV waiting for the video to come on so I could practice her dance break in this video. This piece was also one of the first times I painted without sketching with a pencil! I love just vibing with my brush and seeing what comes from it. I also intentionally practice lighting. I wanted to showcase her curves, her thighs, and movement so much so that I focused in on practicing the power of shadows, light source, and reflection. My style of art catapulted after this piece here!
